Going beyond the basics of ACA’s FDCPA Essentials, next-level subjects such as the Bona Fide Error defense, trending court cases, and enforcement actions are explored in this course. This awareness may help you enhance your compliance program proactively, and thus, increase your accountability for the FDCPA and other consumer protection laws.

This course will prepare participants to:

 

1. Assess their own litigation and regulatory implications for FDCPA governed activities
   --Liability, damages,

    --Record retention requirements,

    --Safe harbors and bona fide error defenses, rebuttable presumptions

    --Interaction with state consumer financial protection laws


2. Manage consumer communications

3. Design/assess your compliance management system and compliance team


Advanced FDCPA is a required course for the following designations: 

--Credit and Collection Compliance Professional (CCCP)

--Credit and Collection Compliance Officer (CCCO)

Her broad areas of expertise include training techniques, training content development, compliance, and process improvement through call monitoring and analysis.

Throughout her executive career, Debra held leadership positions with several large collection agencies and an industry stalwart—a family-owned agency. She served on the Board of Directors for ACA International, Inc. during 2012-2018.  An ACA Certified Instructor since 1983, Debra has taught nearly 250 ACA Seminars.
